Housing Notebook offers advice on tenants rights, decent affordable housing, and related urban affairs coverage, with call-ins. The program airs live over WBAI 99.5 FM in the New York metropolitan area most Monday nights from 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM Eastern Time. About the Hosts Scott Sommer has been a tenants rights activist for over 30 years. A former legal services attorney, Sommer is the honorary chair of the Metropolitan Council on Housing, New York's oldest tenant union. Sommer currently is the New York Sub-Regional Director for the United Auto Workers. You can follow Scott on twitter here. Vajra Kilgour has been involved in tenant struggles since the late 1960s. She has been co-chair of the 515-521 West 122nd Street Tenants' Association for over ten years, and has worked as a tenant organizer in Harlem and the South Bronx. For many years she was a member of the board of directors of the Metropolitan Council on Housing, and served on the first board of directors of the Harlem Tenants Council.
