In “How to Repair a Sex Offender,” we continue to explore first-person accounts about the practical application of sexual offender rehabilitation. John Russon, contemporary Canadian philosopher, states, “the development of habits is essentially the development of our bodily behavior to a state in which the pattern of behavior has become sufficiently familiar to function automatically” (The Human Experience, 2003, p. 29). The most influential myth about sexual offenders is the erroneous generalization, “once a sex offender, always a sex offender.” This clichéd catch phrase suggests that sexual offenders are forever broken. However, the interviews in this podcast episode provide insight as to what helps sexual offender evolve into safer members of society.
