William McKinley delivered his first inaugural address on March 4th, 1897. Read by Yuvraj Singh. William McKinley marked the end of the Gilded Age and the beginning of the Progressive Era in American history. His victory also marked the beginning of the United States as an imperialist and global powers, setting the stage for the American century. Usually considered above average, he is often thought of the president who was succeeded by the inimitable Theodore Roosevelt.
