Have you ever noticed that the New Testament does not speak to every situation in life “specifically?” Or does it? What I mean is, yes sometimes there is no specific word on what to do in certain situations, but there is a specific action. It’s called Love. Love is the first fruit of the Spirit from which all others flow. Love is the “New Commandment” Jesus gave to us. Paul said the “greatest of these is love.” It seems pretty clear that when we do not know what to do because the scriptures are not specific on the matter, we should ask ourselves, “What would love have me do?” What a different world it would be if we all took that advice.
