Welcome to another exciting episode of "Nothing But Up - The Podcast" Season 2! In this episode, we have a very special guest joining us, Richard Taylor, a published author from Georgia. Richard is a retired military veteran who has an incredible wealth of experiences from his long military career. Having served in various military capacities in Vietnam, Grenada, Iraq, Afghanistan, and numerous posts in the United States, Richard has a deep understanding of the sacrifices made by soldiers and their loved ones. He draws inspiration from his military background, capturing the elements of his experiences as a soldier in his writings. Richard's impressive military career includes serving as the Afghan 203d Army Corps Operations and Training Adviser, Iraqi Ministry of Interior Strategic Plans Adviser, and Iraqi Joint Forces Inspector General Adviser. He has also held key positions such as Chief of the US Military Assistance Group in the Philippines, Chief of the Arms Control Branch at NATO International Military Staff, and Director of the Department of Joint and Combined Operations at the US Army Command & General Staff College. Throughout his career, Richard has been involved in a wide range of roles, from being an Inspector General in the 82d Airborne Division to serving as a company commander and S-2 in Vietnam. He has also worked as a Vietnamese Army adviser during Tet '68, an S4 of the army's first modern ranger battalion, and a Senior Corporate Human Resources Manager in two high-tech civilian companies. Richard's educational achievements are equally remarkable. He holds a Master of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Education in Human Services from Boston University. Additionally, he has a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from North Georgia College. He has also graduated from prestigious institutions like the US Army War College, US Army Command and General Staff College, US Marine Corps Staff College, National Security Management Course, and Corporate Executive Management Course. Apart from his military background, Richard is the proud author of the Eden Trilogy, consisting of "Eden Lost," "Return to Eden," and "Almost Eden." His book "Eden Lost" was a 2022 Finalist for the Eric Hoffer Awards Book Category and made it to the 2022 Shortlist for the Eric Hoffer Awards Grand Prize. Additionally, "Return to Eden" earned him recognition as a Georgia Author Of The Year Finalist.
