Drew and Cassie are here to discussing the third Oz adaptation of the month, the 2005 TV film The Muppets' Wizard of Oz starring Ashanti, Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzie Bear, Pepe the King Prawn, and many more Muppets and humans alike! This particular adaptation begins in a modern-day Kansas, where Dorothy dreams of becoming a big star by joining the Muppets Tour. When the tornado drops Dorothy in Oz, she finds herself in a land entirely inhabited by Muppets - even her pet king prawn, Toto, is a Muppet now! Dorothy then follows the Yellow Brick Road to the Wizard to ask him to make her a star. We discuss the modernized setting, the combination of the Munchkins and the field mice, the Wizard's disguises, the embracing of Oz's theatricality, the fun reimagining of the Kalidahs, and much more!
