Kia ora to all the beautiful people about to listen to this episode, you are joining thousands each month looking to upskill and become a better version of themselves.
Over the last 4 years I have had a discussion every week that has tested my ability to empathise and actively listen. Today I reflect on my personal journey from being a poor listener to consciously working on and improving my ability to do so. This has bled positively into my work and wellbeing.
Things we discuss in this episode:
    • Journey from being an aggressive problem-solver to understanding the importance of listening.
    • OneUp's role in developing the skillset.
    • Integration of listening skills into work and personal life.
    • Acknowledging that becoming a good listener takes time, while reducing natural reactions might be a gradual process.
    • The importance of making others feel secure and in control in communication.
    • Insight into the book 'Never Split the Difference' and its umbrella themes.
    • The discovery process in negotiation, conversation, and communication.
Looking forward to hearing from you as always - enjoy the episode!
