UNFINISHED
Thought One:
Drive on through the rain
Whatever the pain.
At the end of the day
It is His way.
As I drive the highways
I often find
Thoughts of my ways
Litter my mind.
The byways of life
At times lead to strife.
Do I turn left or right
To take me through life.
Through the fog and haze
It is Jesus I praise.
He is never wrong.
He is my song.
Thought Two:
Let us now sing
Jesus is King
His name be praised
With our hands raised
Thought Three:
The end is near
The end of days
Though have no fear
Following His ways
The world
Has swirled
Cast adrift
From the rift
A Special Thought:
There was a schedule,
Surgery to be performed.
She was prepared,
Then words were spoken
Leaving her broken.
Her life had been blessed,
Children and grandchildren,
Family and friends always,
And always her Lord, Jesus
There were times of distress,
A loved one’s death.
Perhaps times of doubt,
But there was her Lord, Jesus.
As always she will pray
That He lead the way
Through each and every day
Walking with her Lord, Jesus.
Let us all pray
That in His loving embrace
She will know His healing grace
Throughout her days.

From April, 2020
Yesterday I happened upon a music video of Simon and Garfunkel’s Sounds of Silence. I find it haunting and thought provoking. The thought of this poem have been in my mind for years. What will we find in the silence?
Jesus said, knock and the door shall be opened. As a nation we at some time shut the door. And so many ask where God is today and question His silence. My prayer today is that as a nation we are healed of the divisions in our lives, of the hatred for others, of our trust in our leaders, and as sheep having the wool pulled over our eyes. We ask why and where, but do we care? Lord God, Heavenly Father I pray for the healing of this country and the hearts and minds of its citizens.
I pray the we open the door, take it off the hinges and break it apart so it can never to be closed again. I pray Father in the name of Your son, our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus.
DO WE HEAR THE SILENCE
Amid the noise do we hear
The silence of the sound
That is only to be found
When to one we are near?
Voices today shout
And throw word about
Rights and wrongs.
Who writes these songs?
Death and destruction
Led us to obstruction
Of what was understood
To be sought after and good.
Today people take Him to task
As they have the audacity to ask,
“If You are a God of love,
Why not descend from above.”
Then a voice was heard
And He spoke these words,
“I have been here,
But you refuse to hear.
You did not want Me near
Because of your fear
The truth would be found
In the voices of the silent sound.”
God’s word is clear:
Let he who has eyes see
And he who has ears hear.
What more do we need
Than His word to heed?
What could this world be?

December 4, 2019 – More from The Last Notebook
Many times I start a poem an a scrap of paper just so I remember my thoughts when I sit down to finish the poem hours later. I never got to those hours later with these 4 beginnings. I finally realized they are finished, they stand on their own.
RANDOM THOUGHTS
#1
When life bodes ill,
pray that it is God’s will
not that of ours.
In the passing hours
we will see
what will be.
#2
Over times I have changed,
Priorities rearranged.
But as I have changed
God is still the same.
#3
When yesterday was tomorrow
there was occasional sorrow
& when again comes tomorrow
will there be time one can borrow?
#4
In times of temptation
We have our redemption
Through Jesus
Who saved us
Dying on a cross
Not for our loss
But for our gain
Living in God’s reign.
Write your story
In God’s Glory

There are personal journeys we all take that are personal. We keep the stuff to ourselves. It isn’t always easy to admit as a Christian that we struggle with our struggles. After reading and being led to writing I must admit that the poems of The Last Notebook are a diary of a season of struggle. My struggle has been between my faith in God and another’s attack on my perceived failures. I have lately thought it is time to stop writing, but through this season God has continued to give me the words. Though I my not in prayer ask for the words to finish my thought, lately as I write God is there.
I have been ready to give up the writing and not do anything. But tonight I heard God’s voice say, “Tim, you are not giving up on writing or your faith.” Tonight I can’t not write. I can feel Him tightly holding me, encouraging me and loving me. I know that he is leading me into a new season. Will it come tomorrow? It will come is all I need to know. The last four months God has used to strengthen my faith and my trust. Without those four months tonight would not have come.
There are challenges I have refused to take on. Now it is time, I know, to allow God to finish His work.
RISING ABOVE
Something is happening,
Of what I am not knowing,
But I can feel it growing
Ever so sharpening
A sense of relief
Coming from belief
That in the waiting moments
The threatening torrents
Will like the wind and seas
Become calm so I may seize
The Heavenly gift
That will then lift
This long lived plight
And make all right.
There will be a calming breeze
That will gently ease
The anguish of my soul.
I will be complete and whole.
And though the sea may rise
The fear I have, it dies.
There was a reason
Living that season.
Strength will be found,
Peace will abound.
Through the pain
There has been gain.
As I am living
In thanksgiving
I offer my praise
For the life He did raise.
After thought: How God does work, His blessing between Thanksgiving Day and this season we celebrate the birth of His Son among us, Jesus.
Final thought: I know that I am able to share my struggles with you. If I could share the first poem in the last book, Living in God’s Rhyme, I am safe and comfortable in sharing anything with you. Thank you.

I mentioned yesterday that there might be a GUEST POST this week. Well, there is and here it is. Enjoy.
Hallo Facebook readers and viewers and the such. My name be Kermit but don’t go calling me no frog cuz I’s don’ts wants to croak. Now remember what I jus toad ya. Thank ya..
I have know’d dis guy ya been readin for lots of years, yeah for some time. Ya could say we’s friends, but it probly be more than that. Use’ly when I meet some one new I’s tell them to mind they’s own bidnesss and I will mind my own bidness. But that don’ts matter here cuz I be writing about his bidness. Oh man, I could tell ya stories but then ya probly would’t buy the book I wrote next year. Anyhows, time to get down to bidness, his.
Me and the boys, we be watchin him for a bunch of years. We been bounced around by his ups an downs. He thinks he gots a headache, he ain’t felt a headache like what he give us. But me an the boys, we has come to understand all this bouncin about. He be taken the road headin for Heaven. An we’s certainly hope we’s goin with him.
Now he claim to be one of them, what be the word? Oh yeah, one of them introverted peoples. Probly cuz he was borned inside out. Man oh man, that poor doctor. So we boys makes it our bidness to be his opposite, nosey, noisy, talktive, ridicalus voice. An we’s been successful I don’ts mind sayin so.
So where all this be goin,ya askin. Well, I, l’ll let ya in on some of our bidness. God, He make us all to do different stuff. We’s been to the top of the mountin and been ta the bott’m of the deep ragin and, oh man, wet oceans. Ya understand we’s got no choice. Here’s be a little secret, we’s got no choice cuz he’s gots our voices. We’s seen him laugh and we’s seen him cry. We’s seen him shut the door and suddenly op’n it agin. We’s may not use them words he be usin but we’s be parts of the rhymes he be given by His God, by his Savior.
If’n ya ever gets the chance to say hi, we’d surly make it our bidness to say hi to ya and maybe take some time for conversatin. That’d be good bidness.
I’s like ta say thank ya to him, buts I’s think he done left the room. Yeah, that be right, left then right out the door. Yeah, but he can’t never leave us’n behinds.
Thank your Kermit for your words of . . .for your words of understanding. Well said my friend. I want to thank you for not mentioning the empty space you and the boys live in. To put it in your words, that be nobody bidness.
Yes, I’ve kept secrets from you
Concerning the things they do,
Like exist to resist,
Jest, rather living in rest.
You may ask, where is God in all of this.
He is living in my heart.
Rising at my day’s start
I pray that this joy I will not miss.

AS WE CLOSE IN PRAYER, MAY WE CONTINUE IN PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father we come to you in prayer as we end today’s podcast. Dave and I thank You for Your leading us through the day and into tomorrow. We pray that today has been pleasing to You and honors Your glory.
We pray for our listeners and viewers; for their needs, healing and the salvation of those who have not yet accepted the gift of Your grace by faith.
We pray, Lord, for this world in which we live. Father, as Christians lead us to proclaiming the gospel where ever we are. May we do so in a loving way. Lead us to the truth of the days we are living in. We pray for the nation of Ukraine and its people; its leaders, those who have fled the country to find safety, those who are still trying to leave the country and those who are staying to fight the invading army of their enemy. May their faith and determination be an example to the entire world.
Dear Lord, prepare us and our listeners and viewers for the coming week. We pray that it is You we live for and You who leads us. As we walk with you this week, may it be Your hand clasped around our hand so we may feel the grasp of Your love.
We pray in the name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer.
Amen
