Celsius Resources Ltd (ASX:CLA, AIM:CLA) Executive Director Mark van Kerkwijk joins Proactive’s Tylah Tully to discuss the significant milestone Celcius has reached at the Maalinao-Caigutan-Biyog (MCB) Copper-Gold Project in the Philippines. The company has obtained the certification precondition, marking the first such approval for a copper-gold project in the country in five years. This certification confirms that Celsius Resources has secured the free, prior, and informed consent (FPIC) of the Balatoc Indigenous Cultural Community (ICC) for the MCB Project. The milestone follows a more than three-year process of stakeholder engagement, culminating in a memorandum of agreement signed by Celsius Resources’ affiliate, Makilala Mining Company, Inc. (MMCI), the Balatoc ICC, and the Philippine National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP). This certification is one of the most stringent approval processes required for new projects and is vital for securing the social licence to operate.
