Welcome to the Pining For Pixels podcast! This is my video game variety show podcast, part of the Red Rooster's Gaming Coop network where I talk gaming and gaming culture every week. Coming in at #99 in the top 100 video games of all time is Final Fight! This game was the quintessential arcade beat em up of its time, putting prior entries in this genre like Double Dragon down a peg. However, did you know that Final Fight was meant to be a sequel to the first Street Fighter game? Due to the popularity of the Double Dragon franchise, this would be sequel transformed into a new generation of beat em ups. The development around this game was interesting and the impact this game had on me as a kid is undeniable. Tune in to hear more about the interesting journey this game had from its beginning as a Street Fighter sequel, and how after all these years it has now come full circle with that franchise.
