In the previous passage, we hear about Moses' faith when he went to visit his people, but now the example of his faith is when he forsook Egypt. The initial reading of forsaking Egypt would appear to be when he went to Midian to avoid punishment for the murder. There is a problem with that because here it says that he did not fear the wrath of the king, but in Exodus 2 it is clear that he feared getting caught which seems directly connected to the wrath of the king. When you remember why it was commanded that all sons be put to death, it is because they feared that the Israelites were mightier than they. As Moses was a man mighty in word and deed, he could have probably led the Israelites to have at least power in Egypt, but instead he forsook the land. We see how he had no fear of the king when he went to Pharaoh and said "The Lord God of Israel said 'Let My people go.'"
