Welcome back to The Retro Blood as we continue this November talking all about Werewolf movies in the 1980’s. Up next, if you like X-files like movies about werewolf's, Negative video effect and I weird romance plot this is the Review for you because Retro Blood talking all about “Wolfen”.

Join, James Kline and J. A Alison as we go to an abounded church in the Bronx and try not to get killed by ancient god like wolf creatures.

We start off by talking some quick thoughts on Wolfen and the filming style and videos games being cheap around Black Friday.

Then we get into our weekly History Segment where we talk about what was going on in Pro Wrestling and Metal around the movie release date July 24, 1981.

In Pro Wrestling we talk AWA and the rise of Hulk Hogan becoming a Baby face and how long he would stay a baby face for. We talked about why and how it all went down.

In Metal we talk about the band Blue Oyster Cult and their Album “Fire of Unknown Origin”

Then we get into Who book this Shit!!

We talked about the director Michael Wadleigh and us screwing up his last name and his connection to Woodstock.

Alison explains to us the writer Whitley Striebers 1979 novel of the same name “Wolfen”.

We talk about how some of the book is different than the movie.

We talk about this movie being cut down from 4 hours to nearly 2 and why.

We talk about the new in-camera effect they used a ton and why they used it so much and at what cost.

We talked about who could have been the main star Dewey and why they went with Albert Finney.

Then we get into the full review with Our Negative Scene drinking game. We talk about the deeper meaning to the plot. We talk about the different angle they used with the Werewolf lore. We try to figure out Dewey and Rebec love relationship and so much more.
