There is a wee romantic arc to it, and a very cool dog. Some supernatural beasties featured in the book are vampires, lycanthropes, spellcasters, fae, and one very nasty demon. In, "The Vampires of 1863" a prequel to "The Unlife of Lisa Cooper" and takes place when she's only a vampire of three years. The author gives the reader a peak into the MCs youth.
