We learn about how growing up in christianity experiencing "fiercely charismatic" churches while having a critical mind impacted her during her youth, and later how teaching her children about "hell" all lead to the deconstruction process of faith and how those experiences and others lead to the writings that later became books.

Julie truly is a fascinating person as well as an entertaining story teller. She has been able to allow the experiences she's gone though in life to make her wiser, and able to relate to people and God on a more personal or organic level.
