In this episode, we talk with voice legend, Adam Cheyer. Adam was the co-founder of Siri, Viv Labs, Change.org, and Sentient Technologies.
We first talk about Change.org, how and why it was founded, and why this platform is an enabler for the social justice movements of today.
Adam talks about his early work at SRI and how this lead to his vision for what an assistant can be. We talk about how Adam took the purely academic work at SRI and brought it to the masses with Siri
Adam gives us a history of Siri, from its founding, to venture capital, to launching an app and the fateful phone call from Steve Jobs which eventually lead to Apple acquiring Siri.
Adam discusses leaving Apple to further his vision and founding Viv Labs. He discusses how Viv Labs technology was focused on going beyond Siri and opening up the assistant to 3rd party development.
We talk about the unique Viv Labs AI which uses AI to dynamically generate programs for developers. We discuss how this can be opened up to democratize development and let anyone create a unique assistant experience.
Adam talks about Samsung's acquisition of Viv Labs and the Samsung vision for what an assistant can be.
Finally, we talk about where assistants are today and where they can go to start achieving and fulfilling Adam's vision.
