Interview with Brian O’Connor

Co-owner of Fruits Hair Lab, Brian O’Connor is a staple in the styling scene in the South’s entertainment capitol. With 21 years of cosmetology experience, his expertise in color, cutting, and styling is how Fruits came to fruition. While just out of his teens, Brian began creating looks on Paramore’s lead singer, Hayley Williams, and has continued ever since. In a few short years, Brian’s resume would include not only Paramore, but artists like Fall Out Boy, Josh Dunn, Sheryl Crow, Jewel, Lady A, and even former Vice President Al Gore! His artistry has been recognized by multiple credible publications including Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Allure, and Bustle.

In 2016, Brian co-founded Good Dye Young, a vegan & cruelty-free vivid hair dye company. With Brian as Chief Innovation Officer, Good Dye Young has grown into an industry-leading multi-million dollar company that is breaking the boundaries of what inclusion, community, and vivid hair color mean.

Even while running multiple businesses, Brian continues to stay passionate about working behind the chair. Through his versatile experience, he adopted an impressive skill set that incorporates various techniques to craft a style to fit each individual's needs. He is committed to ensuring that every client leaves feeling more confident than when they walked in.
