This week's guest is a Mariya Taher, the US Executive director and co-founder of Sahiyo, an internationally recognized, award-winning organization, to empower Asian communities to end female genital cutting ( FGC). Mariya has worked in the anti-gender violence field for over a decade including working on the issue of domestic violence within a number of organizations.
In this episode we discuss what FGC is, why it's so prevalent, the importance of using our voicing for social change and how FGC is currently being combated.
