Episode 65: Portrait of a Local Activist
Manage episode 379052131 series 3313696
A distinct stereotype comes to mind when one thinks of the word activist. It is often associated with a coercive, retaliatory, or even violent persona. In this episode, CFFS director Kimberly Miller and national training director Mary Baker explore an alternative, more transformative view of the activist moniker that emerged over the course of a three-month collaborative discussion among members of Local Activist Accelerator. Three key characteristics, along with their distinguishing traits, became clear. Mary Baker has consolidated the results of the conversation into a newly-produced video called Portrait of a Local Activist that will inspire a new, more hopeful perspective of what it means to participate in the public process to effect change.
