There is a higher and lower understanding of fighting. The lower understanding is that of wanting to hurt someone. The higher understanding takes you above the desire to hurt or abuse others and leads you to ask, how can I understand another.
You are not fighting the adversary, but God is. God will never leave us, but it is us who leave him. The way back to God is through repentance, this is his plan, so put your life back right with God.
