Barbering requires more than simply hair cutting. Mr. T.I.M. welcomes Chris P. to discuss what makes a good barber. Barbers must be innovative in cutting techniques and styles. Chris goes on to say that one should be able to hold a conversation, provide outstanding customer service, and make clients feel at ease even if you can’t please everybody.

Throughout the chat, Chris emphasizes the importance of time for any barber who wishes to succeed. He also suggests that assuring the quality of your work will help you deliver the greatest service to your clients.

Highlights:

01:19 I ran into a couple people that were pretty good at what they did. And I hung around them enough, where I felt like I needed to do the same thing.

02:36 Time is everything, you know. I need you to be there, if you want me to be there at a certain time, I need you to be as fluent with your time schedule as I am.

03:55 When I first started, I was kind of scared of cutting hair for a while. Until someone else came in and they were a little worse than me.

05:45 I had you, you know, Tim. He was cool with it. He was always pushing me, pushing me, pushing me, he kept putting people with long hair in my chair. Even though I told him I didn't like it, he continued to do it.

12:18 Start an LLC as soon as you start barbering because it just starts you off so much better.
