Welcome to The Daily Quote – a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, and today is Global Cat Day.... But Andrew.... don't you hate cats! No.... I don't. At least, not anymore... I've always been a dog person. But we involuntarily had mice in our townhouse several years ago, cats made sense at that point. And then... well now... I'm still a dog person but cats are cool too... at least our cats are.
So today is the day we celebrate those fuzzy overlords who act like they own everything (and maybe, they do). There is an idea for a movie - Planet of the Cats?
Today, whether you’re a proud cat parent or just a bystander to the feline empire, this day is all about appreciating our furry friends and their… unique personalities. And, of course, it’s a perfect time to honor them with a quote that fits the occasion. Today's quote comes from Charles Dickens, who once said:
“What greater gift than the love of a cat?”
Now, if you’ve ever been around a cat, you know this quote hits home. The love of a cat is… well, let’s say selective. One moment they’re snuggled up in your lap, purring away like you’re the most important person in the world. The next, they’re giving you that look—like they’re the king, and you’re just there to provide food, shelter, and adoration.
