You’ve probably heard the saying that your network is your net worth. It’s a popular saying because it’s true. Building genuine relationships in business is your capital, your social capital. It’s the goodwill and trust you’ve developed with people over the years. It works like putting money in a bank: Every time you help someone, you deposit some social capital, and vice versa.
