This week I have another great local athlete on the show. Not everyone can say they have a small shrine dedicated to them in their hometown’s arena. But this week’s guest can say that.

Max Coyle has had a very interesting journey to get where he is. And with the University of Alabama Huntsville Chargers shutting its men's hockey program down late last week, things have gotten a lot more complicated for the Tillsonburg resident.

After finishing up his minor hockey in Brantford with the 99ers, he played one season with the Woodstock Navy Vets, before earning a spot on the Listowel Cyclones, where he spent three seasons.

In his final GOJHL season, he and his teammates captured the Sutherland Cup.

The next season, Max headed west and was a champion again, this time capturing the BCHL’s Fred Page Cup with the Prince George Spruce Kings, and coming very close to an RBC Cup title, losing to the Brooks Bandits in the final.

And this year, Max completed his freshman season with the University of Alabama Huntsville Chargers. And as you will hear, Max’s journey isn’t over yet.

Thanks for listening!
