What resonates with you from the Theory of Positive Disintegration?
How can we start to challenge the framework we have about cognition and emotion?
How might we use TPD and CMM to equip ourselves to lean into the challenge of deconstructing and reconstructing our values?
...
Dr. Chris Wells is a writer, social worker, and founder of the Dabrowski Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the Theory of Positive Disintegration (TPD). They are also the co-host of the Positive Disintegration Podcast.
Emma is the co-host of the Positive Disintegration Podcast, and creates content for people learning about the TPD for her website Tragic Gift, and YouTube channel, Adults With Overexcitabilities.
In this conversation, originally recorded in early 2023, Emma and Chris share some stories about themselves, including their relationships to the Theory of Positive Disintegration (TPD) and their own experiences with giftedness. Abbie, Emma, and Chris discuss stereotypes, “spurs to self-correction,” and what it could look like to transform overexcitability in order to live with intense experiences. Emma and Chris break down the Theory of Positive Disintegration. Emma and Chris talk about “authentic voice,” multilevel and unilevel disintegration, and supportive relationships. Abbie explains the similarities she sees between CMM and TPD. Finally, Abbie, Chris, and Emma discuss their shared passions for making the content of their theories more accessible.
