Before we get into the book description I'd like to share a service called Mama V on Demand. this is an opportunity to have a story, a message or encouragement, a celebration message recorded especially for your child. If you'd like to give your child the gift of a personalized story or messaging recording please reach out to victoria@victoriapellegrino.ca. Now, let's talk about the story of the week!
The Butterfly who Couldn't Fly is written by Chantelle Stieghan. The author dedicated this book to children with physical difference and mobility impairment. This book is part of the Garden Series and is a brother episode to Episode # 23: the Snail Who Lost It's Slime.
In the author's words: "The tale of a butterfly, with wings big and small, whose difference would not be a hindrance at all. " Butterfly discovers that his wins are two different sizes and as such, this butterfly cannot fly. At first, Butterfly is sad and lost, but with a helping hand (or wings, or back) of some other friendly faces, Butterfly gets to experiences flight and learns the importance of being happy with himself and what he CAN do. Listen in to the full episode.
