It’s been 20 years since the unlikely reboot of Battlestar Galactica started airing. Whereas the original series hadn’t garnered much critical acclaim, the reboot was widely hailed as one of the best shows of its time. Emmy Award winner Edward James Olmos was persuaded to going Galactica’s crew as the ship’s commanding officer and remained with the show throughout its four-season run. Ironically, he told a New York Comic Con audience he’d never watched the original incarnation of the show, so when it came to deciding whether to take the role or not, he based his decision solely on the reboot’s script.
