On this episode we speak with Marc Eberle the Executive Director of SmartAgro. Marc has been making documentaries for international broadcasters in Southeast Asia since 2000, then in 2018 he founded SmartAgro Sustainable Innovations Co. Ltd. to create a driver for change.

SmartAgro’s mission is to re-design agricultural practices and transform the paradigm of how we add long term value to people, smallholder communities and the ecosystem in the farming industry.

We chat about the work Marc does at SmartAgro with designing and engineering new cropping systems, how those are implemented in the field and where technology such as blockchain and cryptocurrency can help to increase livelihoods whilst slowing climate change.

During the pod Marc mentions a role playing game used to train the farmers. This was developed and refined by Jean-Christophe Castella with a team of researchers Jean-Christophe Diepart, Florent Tivet, Rada Kong, Vuthy Suos, Vira Leng, Sovann Pat, Raksmey Sen.
