The Braw and The Brave is a podcast about people and their passions. Episode 201 is in conversation with actor, singing coach and playwright Katie Barnett. Carving out a hugely successful and varied career thus far, Katie’s passion for performing started at an early age, with her local panto being a real inspiration and highlight of the family calendar. With West End and National Theatre of Scotland credits under her belt, her love of panto has seen her star in productions at the Tron Theatre and MacRobert Arts Centre. Katie is a proud Doric speaker and as one half of singing duo Aye Tunes with partner James Siggens, she co-wrote and starred in the musical My Doric Diary in collaboration with A Play A Pie and A Pint set to go on tour later this year. During her studies in musical theatre Katie discovered a keen interest in voice going on to study to become a singing teacher and now helps pupils from all over the world to perfect their technique, prep for auditions or simply want the opportunity to sing with her guidance and support. Katie is an incredibly skilled and talented performer and creative whose dedication to her craft continues to drive her pursuit of the roles and projects that excite her most. Enjoy!
