Hailing from the great state of Mississippi. Where fried chicken and catfish are king. Spencity is the newest artist to begin making waves throughout the Midwest. From humble beginnings of going to church and playing football, Spencity (birth name Josh Spencer) has not only been a fan of music, but a creator of it as well. From going on the BET Bobby Jones Gospel Tour in 2011 at l8 years old, Spen blends hip hop, rnb, and gospel melodies to create a sound that's uniquely soulful, southern, and expansive. After serving time in the Mississippi state penitentiary, it was time for a breakout. By 2015, Spencity was releasing music under the homegrown AIM HIGH RECORD label. But only for a short time. Soon after release from prison, Spen took an extended hiatus to get his personals in order. Now, firmly planted in the Midwest, Spencity linked with Micdwest Connectz DJ Uncanny and DJ Whobeta. In a short time, this connection led to going on tour with Benzino, opening for R&B giants like Adina Howard and Bobby Valentino, collabs with the likes of people from Bone The Mack to Crunchy Black. With this only being the beginning, Spen wouldn't call it a comeback. But more of a GREAT AWAKENING. With debut singles WE MIGHT BE and TURN ME UP doing well in streams, and on the heels of his VIP/EMPIRE single "LOAD OFF" this is only the start of something great...
