Did you know that the last week of September is banned books week?

In “Book Bans and Censorship, Where’s the Line?” the host Fabiana Conway connects the recent book bans in the U.S. to a wider root issue that is the history of authoritarian governments and suppressing free speech/ideas. The episode goes into different arguments on book bans as well as different examples throughout history. Using theories from philosophers like John Locke and Voltaire, and their perspectives on censorship, the episode dives into the moral question that is 'Who gets to determine what books should and shouldn't get banned?'
