Peter Singer is an Australian philosopher known for his work in ethics, animal rights, and poverty reduction. His book Animal Liberation helped start the modern animal rights movement, and he's a leading voice in effective altruism, advocating for using resources to do the most good.

Singer believes that people in wealthy countries have a moral duty to help end global poverty, and he practices what he preaches by donating a large portion of his income to charity.
