Oliver Ryan A Lancashire man who grew up near Oldham/Ashton-Under-Lyne, Oliver lives locally in Burnley and works in Bury. The eldest of four, Oliver was born in the 1990s under a Tory Government, to a single Mum with long-term health needs. Money was tight and public services were critical, but things got better under the Labour Government of 1997-2010. The massive investment that Government made in our town, our housing, our schools, our services and most of all in our people – that’s what inspired Oliver to go into politics. Oliver says: “It breaks my heart to see what’s happened to Britain. We’re weaker, a lot poorer, more divided and more depressed about our future than we were in 2010. I fundamentally believe every young person deserves the chance to thrive, and reach their full potential.
