Episode 55 - Cali Los Mikyo

For this episode of The HipHopHumboldt Podcast, I had the pleasure to do an interview with one of my favorite artists, Cali Los Mikyo! It was great to get into his history, where he grew up, and how he got into the local scene. We got into some stories from years back, and a lot of discussion about how Cali Los Mikyo is paving the way for youth to have better outcomes in Humboldt County.

During the episode, I couldn't remember the name but it was the ACLU who published the "Failing Grade" report highlighting disparities in outcomes amongst Indigenous students in local schools,

and so with that being said I really have major respect for what Cali Los Mikyo and his close friend Joaquin Thunderbird are doing to grab the torch and keep the right things going for the youth and for the community and culture of Indigenous peoples.
