This year, we have captured stories from indies and organisations from across Oxford, to find out how they have coped with the pandemic, and all that 2020 has thrown at them, as well as hearing how they started, and their hopes for the future.

These stories mean that you can find out more about the history and people behind some of Oxford’s best-loved independent businesses and famous landmarks.

In this episode, Founder of The Missing Bean, Ori Halup, shares the inspiration behind the business, how the coffee scene in Oxford has developed over the last decade, and his plans for the future.

The Missing Bean is an independently owned and run espresso bar, set up to bring artisan Antipodean style coffee and a laid back cafe atmosphere to the heart of Oxford. Set up in Autumn 2009 by Ori and Vicky, who had just returned from Sydney, the Missing Bean quickly established a reputation for great coffee with a relaxed and friendly environment.
