In this minisode of The Injustice Files we first look at the case of Wegstaffe and Connor, tow men falsely accused by a junkie prostitute of kidnapping and murder of 16 year old Jennifer Negron, herself also a streetwalker. The men were convicted based on the testimony that the junkie had seen them pull Jennifer into a car. There were no witnesses testifying to the murder yet both men were convicted and sentenced to up to 25 years in prison. They were exonerated 22 years later in 2014.
Then we discuss the case of Randall Adams, the subject of what was ostensibly the first true crime documentary movie of exoneration by Errol Morris, titled The Thin Blue Line. Adams was falsely convicted of killing a Dallas area police officer and sentenced to death in Texas. The movie helped to exonerate him, after which he moved back to Ohio and died in 2015 after living out the remainder of his life peacefully. The man that helped to falsely convict him and who later admitted to the murder himself was eventually put to death for another murder in Texas.
