The South Carolina Literary Arts Partnership is pleased to welcome Frances Kablick as coordinator; Nine library staff members recently graduated from the Leadership RCPL program at the Richland County Public Library in Columbia, SC on June 25; The South Carolina State Library's Center for the Book proudly announces the recipients of the 2009 South Carolina Center for the Book Awards for Writing, Teaching and Literary Arts Advocacy; The Institute of Museum and Library Service (IMLS) in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) awarded Big Read grants to 269 arts, culture, and science organizations, libraries, and municipalities on June 23; The South Carolina State Library is doing its part to assist out-of-work citizens find jobs. The Library now offers four specialized public access computer workstations where users can create resumes, develop PowerPoint presentations for job interviews, search for State Government and public sector job opportunities, and much more; This edition's featured web site is the Humanities Council SC located at www.schumanities.org.
