I grew up on rock and roll. More to the point, on The Rolling Stones. Sympathy For The Devil played on my dad's gigantic hifi that was the size of a bookcase and we kids sang and danced along in ignorant bliss. Can you imagine? With that being said, that song and others like Led Zeppelin's, Stairway To Heaven, have helped to transform the societal landscape from one of piousness to one of debauchery. On yesterday's show I used an intro from Gun's and Roses called, Reckless Life. It starts out with a driving beat leading up to a crescendo that screams, "I'm Reckless!" For my whole life I have used a phrase "with reckless abandonment..." For example: I worked with a sense of reckless abandonment to get the job done. For some reason I had linked it to the verse Hebrews 12:1 and always thought about running my race with reckless abandonment... "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." This morning, God led me to look up the word "reckless" in the Bible...WHOA...that's the last thing that I want to be. TUNE IN & TURN ON to the Neptune Diaries! God bless you!
