My guest for this episode was Natalia Walker, founder of Inner Creative.

Here’s what I learned from our conversation:

  • The truth: Every one of us is creative (not just children)!
  • How to put less pressure on ourselves by changing our expectations of what being creative looks like.
  • Natalia’s Creativity Mantra: “I’m open and willing to make mistakes. It doesn’t have to be perfect. I just have to show up and give it a go.”
  • How to feel safe when putting your work out there: the importance of boundaries and containers.

Self-reflection prompts to guide your creative journey:

  • What space am I creating from: to please myself or to please others?
  • What identity labels am I putting on myself?
  • What do I love doing?
  • When does time slow down?
  • What makes me feel energized?
  • How creativity helps you tap into your intuition and boost self-acceptance.
  • Creativity is a muscle: the more we practise, the better we get.
  • Creativity builds self-trust and the ability to let go.
  • How to overcome inertia and get into the flow state.
  • Small actions consistently taken over time always win over doing something big but sporadically.
  • When we take time out for ourselves to do things that bring us joy, we give others permission to do the same.
