Ameer Espy and Gamal Prather created The Rhymers Guild in 2016 to help recreate and enhance the experience of face-to-face music sharing. Ameer and Gamal became fast friends after discovering a mutual interest in indie hip hop, especially with regard to how an artist's lyrics contribute to the meaning and experience of listening to music. The initial embodiment of The Rhymers Guild is a podcast and in the future we plan to produce thematic mixtapes crafted to advance the dialog on current events, music and culture.
