Every year, I see the same thing: high school seniors who find every reason not to apply for scholarships. Here is what one mom said in an online forum when asked what she wishes she had done differently during her child’s senior year:

"I wish I had pushed my HS senior to commit to applying for scholarships. Later in her senior year, she found all kinds of ways to avoid putting in the effort."- Mom of Class of 2024 Grad.

If your student is in the Class of 2025, they must start applying for scholarships immediately. Otherwise, here’s the list of “reasons” that they won’t be able to start later:

September: “School just started. I need to adjust to my new schedule before working on scholarships.”

October: “I need to work on my college applications and essays before working on scholarships.”

November: “It’s Thanksgiving! Don’t I deserve a break?!”

December: “I need to fill out the FAFSA before working on scholarships.”

January: “I need to adjust to my new spring class schedule before working on scholarships.”

February: “I need to get my college acceptance before I start working on scholarships.”

March: “My spring sport takes too much time to work on scholarships.”

April: “I need to do all the graduation prep before I work on scholarships.”

May: “Prom prep is taking up all of my free time. I can’t work on scholarships.”

June: “All of the good scholarships are closed.”

Your student’s list of “reasons” will vary, but you get the point: Students can always find a “reason” that they can’t apply for scholarships.

However, it's important to remember that the earlier they start, the more opportunities they will have. So, let's not let these “reasons” hold us back. Let's start applying for scholarships now and make the most of the opportunities available.

The hardest part of scholarships is getting started. But, Class of 2025 students who start now will not only get over this hump but also enjoy these benefits:

  • They will build a portfolio of scholarship essays that they can reuse for many more scholarship applications throughout their senior year.
  • They will have the experience and skills needed to be better scholarship applicants in the spring when their local scholarship opportunities (usually) open up.
  • They could win one of the $20,000, $30,000, $50,000, or other high-dollar scholarships open to seniors this fall!

It's crucial to understand the urgency of the situation. Did you know that the Class of 2025 has already missed a FULL TUITION and a FULL RIDE scholarship opportunity? Every day a student delays is another lost scholarship opportunity.

Perhaps you and your student are willing to start, but you aren’t sure how. The Scholarship GPS Course will get you and your student up to speed quickly. Here are just some of the highlights from the course:

  • How and where to find scholarships
  • How to prioritize the right scholarships
  • How to build a student’s Personal Narrative: The Key to Scholarship Success
  • How to respond to the most common scholarship essay topics

Plus, throughout the fall, I will be adding lessons on some of the biggest scholarship opportunities for the Class of 2025 - scholarships that virtually every senior should apply for!

The tools, tactics and strategies I share in the Scholarship GPS Course are the same ones I used to coach my own son to over $95,000 in scholarships, to coach Isabella to 14 scholarship wins, and to coach Talon to over $100,000 in scholarships!

So, get started on your scholarship journey today! Go to www.ScholarshipGPS.com and use coupon code SAVE20 to get $20 off the regular price of the Scholarship GPS Course.
