Here we go! We’ve arrived at the 11th episode of the Successful Healthcare Working Mother Podcast! Today I want to dive into something we can all benefit from: “Time Management Tips for Working Moms”. By using time management tools, you can take control of your day, rather than feeling like your day is controlling you. This episode includes the following:

Main Points & Actionable Steps:
- Identifying your time thieves using the ABCDE method
o A – High Importance / High Urgency (Gas when the car is empty)
o B – Medium Importance / Medium Urgency (Groceries, but you have food at home)
o C – Low Importance / High Urgency (Time Distractors)
o D – Delegate
o E – Eliminate
- Optimizing transitions between work and home using the anagram R-E-S-C-U-E
- Make realistic agreements with yourself

Actionable Steps:
- Designate each task using the ABCDE letter descriptors each night
- Prioritize all A tasks using A-1, A-2, A-3, etc. Do the same for B, C, D and E
- Focus on A-1 tasks first, then A-2. DO NOT do other tasks before A tasks are complete
- R - Reminders
- E – Embrace Comfort
- S – Self-Care Routine
- C – Connect & Communicate
- U - Unwind
- E – End Crossover
- Stop overcommitting
- Break big tasks into smaller ones
- Schedule Self-Care

By concentrating on these areas, healthcare working mothers can effectively learn to prioritize tasks, manager their time and create balance at work and home. By defining what success looks like for you, you can say yes to your goals rather than fall victim to other peoples’ wants and needs. I encourage you to start taking action using the steps outlined in today’s episode.
