theforcedpivot welcomes Michael Goodman.
Senior Instructional Technology Coordinator, Michael Goodman provides technology coaching and support to the students, teachers, staff, parents, and administrators at Kenmore Middle School in Arlington, Virginia. He oversees the daily operations of the EdTech program in the school ensuring that staff have all the tools needed to fulfill the strategic goals of the school district. In his 31+ years in education, one of the highlights was hosting President Barack Obama on a technology gallery walk in 2013 when the entire school was studying Duke Ellington.
During the pandemic, Mr. Goodman was on the frontlines providing guidance and support to his school community and leadership to other schools.
Mr. Goodman began his professional career as a classroom Technology Education teacher in Calvert County, Maryland. He spent five years providing instruction to hundreds of students and even served as a head basketball coach.
Mr. Goodman is a native of Washington, DC where he attended HD Woodson Sr. High School. He received his BS degree in Technology Education from Virginia Tech and his MS degree in Instructional Technology from Towson University. He is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. since the Spring of 1990. He has been married to his college sweetheart for nearly 30 years and they have three sons.
