Greg Brady (@GregBradyTO) reacts to the Ford government introducing strict new rules for safe injection sites, including banning them within 200 metres of schools and child-care centres — a move that will force several existing sites to shut down permanently. We all see this issue differently – OF COURSE we don’t want to see people struggle with addiction, of course we don’t want people consuming tainted drugs.. but are safe sites the answer? Or is treatment and rehabilitation? We get your calls on Toronto Today.
Next, Ontario’s Labour Minister David Piccini.. The Minister had a confrontation with embattled CUPE President Fred Hahn. Hahn’s been in the headlines as of late for his stance on the war in the middle east and for an antisemitic social media post – which he then gave a non-apology for – Piccini ran into Hahn at a conference in Ottawa Tuesday… and let Hahn know how he feels.
Lastly, Eric Lombardi, Founder of More Neighbours Toronto and we were talking about how housing starts continue to falter.. and in response – the province has unveiled updated planning guidance that’ll make it easier for towns and cities to hit their housing targets – that they’re currently failing to reach. What does Eric make of the plan? What needs to be done to encourage more homebuilding?
