In today’s episode I interview Dr. Michael Mannino, a peak performance coach at Steven Kotler’s Flow Research Collective. Michael has a Masters in philosophy, specializing in philosophy of mind, consciousness, and science. Michael is also an amateur athlete interested in peak performance, cognitive enhancement, the intersection of neuroscience and fitness,

I wanted to have Michael on the show because I absolutely love certain aspects of psychology, including how it relates to peak experiences, peak performance, and just how to get ourselves to feel great more of the time.

In this interview Michael shares the importance of heart rate variability (HRV), why your vagus nerve can help you relax, the 4 components of “flow states,” why sleep is the #1 biohack, and much more. Enjoy.
