The City of Johannesburg has reiterated that the sheriff of the court has no legal authority to effect a warrant of arrest, saying that it is sorely the responsibility of the South African Police Service (SAPS). This follows an attempt by the sheriff to enforce a warrant of arrest against Johannesburg City Manager, Floyd Brink, at his residence in Roodepoort, Johannesburg. The City failed to adhere to a court order prohibiting its officials from disconnecting services to a client. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to Director at Mojapelo Attorneys, Tshepho Mojapelo.
