Plenty of people WANT to be popular on the internet. However, those who succeed with their ambition to have internet fame have one thing in common. No, they don't have perfect aesthetic or a flawless catalog of content. No, they don't have money or the Illuminati on their side.

The reason why some people can build an online fan base and some people cannot, I believe is the community. Community is the essence of all social media mass followings. In this video, I use the examples of Pewdiepie on Youtube and Violet Benson on Instagram ( @daddyissues ) BUT these are just two examples of social media celebrities with massive followings who do not fixate on aesthetic but rather on community. And these social media famous people have immense followings and incredibly loyal audience within niches'. They do not worry about appealing to everyone. They know WHO they are connecting with and they DO NOT obsess over trying to have mass appeal.

Now, you may wonder how could YOU also build a social media audience of that size. Well becoming that level of success on social media is like becoming a rockstar in this day and age. It isn't impossible but I also wouldn't bet on it. However, the chances of YOU being able to carve a little piece out for yourself and construct an audience that roots for you and believes in your content, very possible IF you put community first. Community IS the essential component to building your following. It is HOW you can create successful businesses using social media. Without community people just assume that you are there for yourself ( and they won't support you! ) -

In this episode today I share my thoughts on community building and why I think it is the most vital element of social media marketing. It is also the most difficult to create if you do not make it your main primary focus. You cannot fake community.
