It's Joever. The Detroit Red Wings and Joe Veleno have ended the salary arbitration process and settled on a new 2 year contract to keep Joey V in Hockeytown!
Tune in as we discuss the value of the deal, whether Steve Yzerman overpaid for Veleno, and how Veleno projects out in Detroit's future (3:20), before also discussing how a new buyout window may affect Ville Husso (but not Justin Holl), and what the remaining cap space means for Lucas Raymond, Moritz Seider, and Jonatan Berggren's contracts (12:05). Also, the Quinton Byfield contract and warning signs from that (as well as Dubas' Matthews and Marner deals) compared to Raymond & Seider's deals as Yzerman tries to build Detroit's long-term core to add to Dylan Larkin & Co. in creating a competitive Red Wings team again (22:15).
