This 5am morning routine follows these 3 steps:

  • PRAY
  • PLAY
  • PLAN

This episode explains the final step of my morning routine. This is coming to an intentional plan for my day every single morning. In a world filled with distractions, it is very easy to forget about our purpose and consequently keep ourselves busy with anything and everything that isn't aligned with our purpose. We can easily fall in to this trap if we don't have a structure and a plan to our days. In this episode I explain how I have created a structure and a plan that works for me. Now I am leaving the life of being busy behind and stepping into the life of being productive.
My daily plan is formed around these 3 categories:

  1. Identifying Habits: Once I was able to identify the bad habits in my life that were holding me back, I made it a major goal to replace those habits with habits that contributed to my holistic growth and well being. Before I start my day I remind myself of these habits and keep track of them.
  2. Identifying Commitments: When it comes to our commitments we are usually all talk and no action. When there is indeed action, it is usually associated with commitments outside of our life purpose. Now it is an intentional goal of mine to stay committed to my purpose and this is also addressed in the morning in order to set the tone for purpose influenced decision making throughout my days.
  3. Matters Arising: This refers to making a daily list of responsibilities and requirements that aren't always anticipated but still necessary. This is what I used to treat as primary but now it is very much secondary to my habits and my purpose commitments.

If you are struggling with organisation and structure in your life, this episode is for you. If you have hard time sticking to your word, this episode is for you. If you are a chronic procrastinator like I am then it is extremely important to take control of your morning before your morning takes control of you!
