Welcome to a Bonus Interview episode with Kristoff Morrow
Warning: This Episode includes explicit language. I want us to be sensitive to Kristoff's Tourettes syndrome. Kristoff is open about his disabilities and what contributed to his disability. Tourette’s syndrome according to Tourette's Syndrome | AAFP “is a movement disorder most seen in school-age children. The incidence peaks around preadolescence with one half of cases resolving in early adulthood. Tourette's syndrome is the most common cause of tics, which are involuntary or semi-voluntary, sudden, brief, intermittent, repetitive movements (motor tics) or sounds (phonic tics). It is often associated with psychiatric comorbidities, mainly attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Given its diverse presentation, Tourette's syndrome can mimic many hyperkinetic disorders, making the diagnosis challenging at times”. Kristoff also expressed that he has Autism. I have a nephew Liam who is on the spectrum. I ask that we show kindness and respect towards each other and individuals with developmental disabilities. I am grateful to Kristoff for coming on the Episode to speak about his book “The Second Sun”. Kristoff is also a veteran, and he explains how his disability of Tourette's impeded him to go further in his military career. Kristoff has a profound ability to write and make his characters relatable to every human on this earth. I love how Kristoff has a character representation in his book because it is especially important as humans to be inclusive and love one another. I loved having Kristoff on the show and would love to have him back to discuss his 3rd volume to the continuation of The Second Sun. I look forward to reading the copy I bought for the kindle. Thank You Kristoff Morrow for serving in the military. I appreciate your service. Kristoff’s bio is below and the link to his book “The Second Sun Volumes I & II. Kristoff speaks about his parents being vicously abusive towards him. I want to say that no child deserves to be beaten on and battered. Kristoff has conquered this and moved on to greener pastures in his writting. I was blanking out on my representatives lol. Kristoff said he doesn't know his either lol. I am a teacher and social studies is the subject you must know these things lol. We shared laughters together. Kristoff is amazing. Big HUGS

About Kristof Morrow
I’m a veteran, author, and award-winning journalist that’s sold more than 1200 copies of my debut book, “The Second Sun,” after going viral on TikTok in June. Growing up, I was the third born but the first to graduate high school. I was viciously abused by my parents. They both have suffered from some form of addiction. I taught myself to write while serving in the US Navy as a Corpsman right after high school, and after leaving, I learned a University education wasnt for me, despite winning the highest award for short fiction and poetry at two different colleges in their annual creative writing contests. While living in Louisiana, I was hired by a film director to help complete his script and got to work on a film set. I became an EMT around the age of 23, then a 911 dispatcher at 26 before earning, by audition, a job at a newspaper. At this point, I was 27 years old and won awards from two Texas Press Associations for feature writing and photography. I later became sober from alcohol, as my Tourette’s manifested in a way I could no longer ignore and I spent five years battling worsening symptoms and not writing a word. Several dozen times a day, my ticks force me to slap, punch, and claw myself in the face. It makes me call myself names very loudly that I won’t write here, I say I hate myself, and I’m often laughed at in public, (however, it’s not malicious) additionally, I’ve lost almost all use of my right thumb from chronic impact injuries, as it compels me to punch hard surfaces around me. I’m currently wearing bandages and tape on two fingers, and a thumb brace from an injury resulting from just that. On October 16, 2021, I surrendered that fight and began writing once more. In February of this year, I published my first book! P.S. I’ve omitted a lot, such as how many different places I’ve lived in the US, Canada, and even a story about how I learned I wasn’t a dad after raising a baby for two years.
Kristof Morrow is a 34 year old writer from Texas that now lives in Vancouver, British Columbia.
