1:06:14Day 12 of the 12 days of Christmas Series! 🎄☃️🎊 If time were ours to bargain with, would we spend it any differently? Would we cherish it more, or waste it all the same, just to feel its weight in our hands again? In this deeply moving episode, your Local Neighborhood Baby chats with Terry Tucker—a man in the thick of a battle with cancer, a former SWAT hostage negotiator, and a beacon of resilience. Terry’s story is not about what’s been taken but about what remains: trust, empathy, and the choice to persist, even when life is unbearably heavy. He shares the truths that have shaped him, guiding him through the darkest hours: the courage to embrace pain, the discipline to master the mind, and the profound understanding that legacy is not measured in time but in the love and impact we leave behind. To hear Terry speak is to be reminded of life’s fragile beauty. His words call us to sit with discomfort, to trust in human connection, and to savor every moment—even the ones we wish would pass. If I could have it back—all the time spent listening, learning, laughing—I’d waste it all again, and again, and again. Because moments like this, shared in honesty and hope, are never truly wasted. This conversation is a gift, a reminder to live fully and love deeply, no matter how fleeting the time may feel. Key 🗝️ Takeaways: Terry Tucker's journey exemplifies resilience and mental strength. The importance of trust and credibility in negotiations cannot be overstated. Empathy plays a crucial role in crisis situations. Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional. Understanding builds trust in relationships. You will fight harder for the people you love than for yourself. Control your mind, or your mind will control you. Doing small uncomfortable things daily builds resilience. Life is for service, and we should focus on helping others. As long as you don't quit, you can never be defeated. Guest Bio: Terry Tucker is a speaker, author, and international podcast guest on the topics of motivation, mindset, and self-development. He has a business administration degree from The Citadel (where he played college basketball) and a master’s degree from Boston University. Among his diverse professional roles, Terry has been a marketing executive, a hospital administrator, a SWAT Hostage Negotiator, a business owner, and for the past twelve years, a cancer warrior (which saw the amputation of his foot in 2018 and his leg in 2020). He is the author of the book, Sustainable Excellence, Ten Principles To Leading Your Uncommon and Extraordinary Life and a featured author of the new book, Perspectives On Cancer, Stories Of Healing, Hope, & Resilience. Terry has been published in Authority, Thrive Global, and Human Capital Leadership magazines, along with being featured in the book, Audaciousness, Your Journey To Living A Bold And Authentic Life by Maribel Ortega and Helen Strong. 💰💵 Got some loose change? 1:05:41Day 11 of the 12 days of Christmas Series! 🎄☃️🎊 In this episode, your Local Neighborhood Baby and Kevin Palmieri delve into the complexities of mental health, personal growth, and resilience. Kevin shares his personal journey of overcoming depression and suicidal ideation, emphasizing the importance of support systems and the distinction between bad days and mental health crises. They discuss the impact of money on mental health, the necessity of building meaningful relationships, and the significance of small, sustainable changes in one's life. The conversation highlights the need for empathy and understanding in addressing mental health challenges, as well as the importance of authenticity in sharing personal experiences to inspire others. Key 🗝️ Takeaways: Self-improvement helps manage stress and anxiety. Living unconsciously can hinder personal growth. Reaching out for help is a sign of strength. Surrounding yourself with positive people is crucial. Growth is personal; avoid comparing yourself to others. Start making changes from where you are now. Breaking promises to ourselves can damage self-trust. Money is a tool, but it doesn't solve internal issues. Authenticity in sharing experiences can inspire others. Small, sustainable changes lead to significant progress. Guest Bio: Some people find rock bottom... I found out that rock bottom had a basement. In my mid 20's... I had it all. I had a beautiful girlfriend, high paying job, sports car, my dream body... but I still ended up sitting on the edge of a bed debating suicide. After my rock bottom moment, I went all in on holistic self-improvement. I was determined to overcome my anxiety, depression and to finally live the life I'd always dreamed of. Years later, I now host a podcast that impacts hundreds of thousands of people in countries all over the world. At this stage, I've helped grow the podcast into a $1M+ revenue business, and I've recorded well over 2,600+ episodes. I've also given hundreds of speeches, trainings, and coaching sessions with people all over the world. The main thing that changed was ME. I focused on learning what I didn't know (unlearning a lot too), and my life started to shift. I love talking about consistency, commitment, habits, mindset, confidence, fear, relationships, limiting beliefs, and everything in between. I believe in a heart-driven but NO BS approach to holistic self-improvement, and I look forward to teaching even more people about what it really takes to get to the next level! 💰💵 Got some loose change? Day 7 of the 12 days of Christmas Series! 🎄☃️🎊 In this episode, your Local Neighborhood Baby interviews Eduardo Marquez, who shares his incredible journey from being an orphan to serving as a bomb technician in the military, and ultimately becoming a successful entrepreneur with his brand, Mortal Triumph. Eduardo discusses the challenges he faced, including trauma, grief, and the importance of processing emotions. He emphasizes the significance of mindfulness, journaling, and the need to connect with others to heal. The conversation highlights the mission behind Mortal Triumph, which focuses on legacy, sacrifice, and living a life aligned with one's values. Key 🗝️ Takeaways: Eduardo emphasizes the importance of sharing inspiring life stories to help others. Mindfulness exercises can be beneficial for managing stress and anxiety. Journaling serves as a powerful tool for processing emotions and memories. Coping with trauma often requires confronting and discussing feelings. The military experience can shape one's perspective on life and resilience. Mortal Triumph represents a mindset of earning one's legacy through sacrifice. It's crucial to foster an environment for emotional processing, especially after trauma. Talking about grief can be a significant step towards healing. The journey of entrepreneurship can be a way to channel personal experiences into something meaningful. Building connections with others who have faced similar challenges can aid in healing. Guest Info: Mortal Triumph, an apparel and lifestyle brand that aims to empower individuals through sacrifice and resilience. It is a military-inspired brand. I want to provide a bit of background and my story of how this brand came to be. The inspiration started with my parents. My parents were Mexican immigrants who came here in search of better opportunities. I lost them at a young age; my mother when I was 10 and my father when I was 11. One of the major things I learned from them was that everything in life is earned through sacrifice. They sacrificed everything so that we could have better opportunities. So after they died, I took that lesson everywhere. My work ethic became my power, and I took pride in the work that I did. Simply having an opportunity was an accomplishment. This theme carried into college and ultimately led me to join the military as an EOD technician. I met some of the best people in the world during my military career. Lots of like-minded individuals who also believed in legacy and honor for a greater purpose. Some of them even gave the ultimate sacrifice of their lives. So when I decided to create Mortal Triumph: these became my values: legacy, sacrifice, and triumph. By honoring those who came before who paved the way, we have the privilege to sacrifice in the present and work towards victory. We all die at some point, so why not earn it by living up to our values? Ultimately, Mortal Triumph is a brand about self-empowerment through these ideas. In every garment, there is a story of sacrifice and glory, and each individual has the sacrifices they make each day. 💰💵 Got some loose change? This week, I was supposed to release "Hey Mom, I'm on TV" with Jenn from My Streaming Bubble , but technology had other plans. Since the audio file got corrupted, I decided to sit down and have an impromptu heart-to-heart with you all. In today’s episode, I open up about my own battles with anxiety, a nasty sinus infection, and a possible run-in with POTS (yes, it’s been that kind of week). We explore the impact this has on mental health, daily routines, and just trying to feel okay in a world that often feels so far from it. I also talk about boundaries and how I'm navigating social distancing—not just to avoid physical illness, but to protect my peace. Let’s be honest, some people can be emotional vampires, and I'm learning to reclaim my space and energy. Dealing with health anxiety and the emotional rollercoaster it brings. Setting boundaries to protect your mental space and peace. How isolation isn't always about avoiding others, but about self-preservation. 🔑 Key Points : Dealing with health anxiety and the emotional rollercoaster it brings. 1:50:55Buckle up, my little babies, because this episode is a wild ride! In "Politically Incorrect," I sit down with Adam, John, and Matt—three white males with diverse and passionate political opinions. Recorded in early August, this episode dives deep into the political rabbit hole, featuring heated debates, strong opinions, and plenty of back-and-forth arguments. Trigger Warning: This episode contains charged political discussions that some listeners might find uncomfortable or disagreeable. If you prefer to steer clear of intense political debates, you might want to skip this one. But if you're curious about how people with vastly different views can passionately argue, challenge each other, and still walk away as friends, this episode is for you. What to Expect: A candid exploration of various political topics that are as divisive as they are relevant. Spirited discussions that showcase the differences in opinion, ranging from the left to the right and everything in between. Insight into how these discussions, while intense, remain respectful and friendly at their core—an approach that serves as a reminder that it's possible to disagree vehemently while still finding common ground. A note on the panel's composition: all three guests are white males, offering an interesting perspective for me as the host. Important Note: The opinions expressed in this episode reflect those of the guests at the time of recording in early August. Some opinions, including my own, may have evolved since then, so keep that in mind as you listen. Apologies: A quick heads-up—there are a few audio disfluencies throughout the episode. The conversation gets pretty heated at times, and you’ll notice some moments where everyone’s talking over each other. The best was done to clean it up, but hey, that’s the nature of passionate debate! Call to Action: Before you dive in, make sure you’re registered to vote! Your voice matters, and every vote counts. Whether you’re deeply entrenched in your political beliefs or just here for the ride, this episode is sure to get you thinking. Tune in, and if you’re feeling brave, drop your thoughts in the comments or over on the r/sdanxious subreddit. Remember, it’s all about engaging in these conversations, even when they’re tough. In this episode of Stressed Depressed & Anxious , it's been three long years since Nick last joined me as a guest, and we're back together again, bringing you the kind of chaos and laughs you loved in our previous episode, "Love Sid & Nancy." We're still pretty toxic, but hey, that's what makes our conversations so real and unfiltered! We dive into the highs and lows of owning a house, including the never-ending saga of DIY repairs and the hilarity of "dad moments." We also chat about the drama surrounding the end of Nick's previous podcast, Gag on This Podcast , and our shared experiences with inappropriate messages—spoiler: unsolicited dick pics are a no-go. Nick reveals his plans for a new podcast that explores the realities of parenting and the things that just don't make sense to him. Our conversation takes a more serious turn as we discuss our strained relationships with our siblings and the challenges of navigating family dynamics. We touch on sexual experiences and how toxic relationships can leave a lasting impact. And of course, we share some of the worst things that have happened to us recently, including a listener story! In the final segment, we get into our experiences with cheating and being the "other person," discuss our relationship preferences, and bond over our love for video games.
